With Jaguar cars, warning lamps and indicators come in three colors: Red, Amber/Yellow, and Green/Blue.
We’ll be covering the most common red and amber/yellow lights in this guide.
Critical Warning Message: If you see a dashboard light that looks like an exclamation point in a triangle, check your instrument panel for relevant message displays and take appropriate action.
The battery charge dashboard light looks like the image of a battery and indicates that there is a detected fault with the battery charging system. Pull over as soon as it’s safe and seek assistance from your local Jaguar technician.
The Brake light is a red light with the word “BRAKE”. This dashboard light indicates that there’s a potential fault with the braking system. Do not continue driving as your brake fluid level may be low. Driving with low brake fluid can lead to brake failure. Stop the car as soon as it’s safe and contact your Jaguar dealership.
If you see a light that looks like a thermometer being dipped in liquid, your engine’s temperature is too high. This will also be accompanied by a message in the instrument panel that reads “ENGINE OVERHEATING”. Pull over when it’s safe and turn off the engine to allow it to cool.
A red light that looks like an oil can indicates that your oil pressure is low. Stop the vehicle as soon as it’s safe to do so and turn off the engine. Contact a certified Jaguar service center for assistance as you may need an oil change. Do not continue driving as doing so could lead to overheating or irreparable seal and gasket damage.
The Check Engine light is amber and looks like a picture of an engine. If this turns on while driving, there may be a fault with the emissions system. Your car may enter “limp-home mode,” which reduces vehicle performance to prevent potential damage. If the light is flashing, reduce your speed and pull over as soon as it’s safe. Contact a Jaguar technician.
The TPMS light is yellow and looks like an exclamation mark in parentheses. This light indicates that one or more tires is significantly under-inflated. Fill your tires to the recommended PSI as soon as possible and avoid any difficult driving maneuvers while this light is lit.
If you properly inflate the tires and the light doesn’t go out after a few regular driving cycles or it’s flashing, head to your nearest Jaguar service center as soon as possible for maintenance.
If you see one of these Jaguar F-PACE dashboard lights during your drives around the Cleveland area, contact the team at Jaguar Westside and we’ll help you diagnose your issue and provide a thorough and efficient fix.
